All of the problem solving skills and services that I utilize and offer are related to the intercommunications field.  Whether developing a new business
plan or working to solve a business situation that is unique (or more often- complex), the ability to accurately and properly convey meaning and intent
to others is not always easy for others to do when the stakes are ones own livelihood or peace of mind. The same exists in our everyday lives that are
not business related but still concern ones peace of mind.  Proactive steps are most often easier to recognize as needed after problems grow into
full blown disputes, and the benefits of proactive problem solving are lost since actual disputes must now be dealt with.  Taking a proactive approach
to many situations prior to elevating to the level of 'disputes' is my preferred way of dealing with most situations.  What may be recognized as a
problem does not mean it is automatically a dispute situation requiring mediation or arbitration or litigation to resolve.

Personal contact and taking time to understand as much as possible about the situation that is the problem is essential to find the answer (or path to
the answer) that is best for the client and their wants and needs.  Consulting is an essential service if seeking help from others and it is the way to
learning as many options as possible from which to choose.  Consulting to me is not dictating and telling the client what to do; it is affording the client
an opportunity to learn their options and the resultant benefits and drawbacks associated with those options. Unlike many lawyers that tend to think it
is their job to tell you what to do or only what they will do for you, I believe in discovering options and paths that are not merely based on what is
customary or what is usual, but rather on what is possible for the situation at hand and then determining what is best for the client.  And my finding of
what is best does not mean that is  what the client may choose to do, the choices remain with the client and I will work with the parameters the client
establishes.

Not all choices a client may make will I be able to support,  my ethics and principals may preclude me from performing certain services or continuing
to do so.  These are rare situations as I have found that those seeking proactive resolution to problems are rarely looking for someone to help them
damage another or cause harm.

When problem solving involves other than the client as the only contact, advocating for a client and engaging in actual representation of that client
may wrongfully be viewed as a 'legal' matter only to be handled by a lawyer.  This is far from true though some lawyers may want it to only be seen this
way.  Some situations may involve lawyers but they need not be your only resource or their standard legal process your only recourse.  Most
situations I have dealt with when there are lawyers involved, either for the client or opposed to them,  I have found that the need for someone to look
'outside the box' for options that lawyers either don't know or are not able or willing to perform  is hugely beneficial to the client.

Professional advocates and representatives are able to work not only within a legal or government setting but also within the community at large
without the problems often associated with hiring a lawyer and the appearance and intimidation so often associated with it.  A letter sent to someone
from an advocate or representative is usually received much better than a letter from a lawyer. In todays times it has become natural to immediately
be on the defensive when receiving a letter from someones lawyer. Proactive and more positive means of problem solving pays off in the end and
adversarial measures should be the last steps taken.

This is not to say that there aren't situations and times when legal council is beneficial or even required, sometimes they are, but not always when
what you actually need is a professional advocate or representative since litigation and lawyers and courts are not yet determined to be your best
course of action.  When one is sued or is left with no other  option but to bring suit, shouldn't it be because all other options are exhausted and
negotiation and mediation have left unresolved matters that require the court system to resolve ?  I firmly believe this is the best for everyone and
even for the courts since they now commonly can refer matters to mediation  to either resolve the matter in entirety or whittle down the issues to only
those that require court resolution.

As an advocate or representative it is possible to legally represent and advocate for you.  The ability to assign Power of Attorney to another to
represent your interests and needs is a simple matter and can be limited in scope and nature to fit the situation best. For example I am able to go
before a zoning board seeking a variance or special use permit for you by way of a Limited Power of Attorney drawn up just for that one instance or it
can be drawn up that i can represent your rights in that property in all matters concerning it.  The ability to use my skills, knowledge, and abilities in
any given situation is yours to decide. Through POA I am able to act on your behalf, representing your interests and advocating for you, your interests,
your rights, and your privileges.   Many clients situations and problems requiring advocacy or representation have been resolved through a Limited
POA  and the ability to stand ones ground on behalf of the client.

With constant changes in the laws it is often prudent to engage a lawyer for their unique and licensed abilities, their knowledge of law related to the
situation at hand, but not all problems or disputes need or should be 'handled' by a lawyer.  As they may be learned in certain laws and legal
procedure and should be aware of any recent changes in laws that may affect their clients their ability to see options outside of the legal field is
usually limited.

I have and do use the services of lawyers when situations require their expertise, I don't give 'legal' advice as they do but nor do they work outside of
their profession and do what i do.  While many may have skill and ability to take cases into the courts,  I will do my best to identify options to keep you
out of the courts, or at the very least, work to make it as simple and easy on you as possible.

I am able to help you find other professionals that may be additionally required to help get through whatever situation, problem, or dispute you find
yourself seeking help with,  and can act as your advocate with them to see that they are sincere and dedicated to working with and for you. My
experience in this has shown me that interviewing professionals is not always comfortable for clients to do or for the professional under
consideration, but it is essential to better assure the help you get is the help
you really want and need.
